The Lancaster Parking Authority was incorporated January 4, 1967 to serve the city and its parking needs and assist the City of Lancaster with Economic Development.
The governing body of the authority is a board consisting of five members, all of whom are appointed by the Mayor for a term of five years (after the initial staggered appointments which mean one new or reappointed member per year). Members serve without compensation. The Board meets twelve (12) twelve time per year. Dates and times are posted at the Lancaster Parking Authority Office and may be acquired by calling the office.
Address:
111 North Prince Street, P.O. Box 866, Lancaster, PA 17608-0866.
Office Hours:
The Main Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. except Holidays and Special Events. Notices will be posted on the door of the entrance to the Office.
Office Activities:
The Lancaster Parking Authority is normally open from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM Monday through Friday unless closed for a holiday or an emergency.
The Office has a service window which will accept patron payments for Monthly Parking, replenish Personal Service Accounts, sells Validation Coupons, Value Cards and Visitor Cards.
The Office will also accept requests for events being sponsored by a Company for their employees or guests. Prepaid event tickets are printed for the day of the event and the Company is billed for the parking. This is practiced frequently for events at the Fulton Opera House.
A very similar program is offered for Wedding and Receptions that require parking in the area of any of our four garages including the Cherry Street Lot.
The Service window also rents Meter Hoods to Contractors performing work in the area of a Lancaster Parking Authority meter.
The Office is open to provide any type of information and to help our patrons with vehicle problems. Our maintenance staff can help with some items directly and others we will assist you with finding a service provider or a tow of your vehicle if necessary.
