Automated Kiosk Installed at Penn Square Garage

the LPA has installed two Pay on Foot/Automated Kiosks at the Penn Square Garage. One Kiosk is located on the second floor by the Lancaster Marriott entrance. The other unit is on the Duke Street side of the Penn Square Garage. These units accept credit cards, cash visitor passes and program validations from the Marriott and Lancaster County Convention Center. An LPA representative will be on hand on a daily basis to ensure a smooth transition.

Five After Five

The LPA is implementing a flat fee of $5 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings between the hours of 5 PM and 5 AM. Anyone entering any LPA garage after 5 PM on these days will pay a flat rate, regaurless of the amount of time in the facility, as long as the vehicle exits by 5 AM the next morning. Starting at 5:01 AM, normal rates will apply up to a maximum of $14 per day. Anyone entering the garages before 5 PM will be charged at the standard rates for the length of their stay. Look for signs at parking garage entrances announcing the new program.

Did You Know... The LPA is offering an artist or sponsoring organization the opportunity to display a temporary outdoor sculpture at the Prince Street garage on the Orange Street side? New Garage Elevators

The Lancaster Parking Authority (LPA) is investing $2 million in 2010 to upgrade the elevators in the Prince Stree, Duke Street and Penn Square garages. While this work may result in some disruption for our patrons, the replacement and modernization of the elevators is necessary and will provide long-term benefits to all LPA customers. Work is slated to begin in May or June at the Duke and Prince Street garages. The current schedule calls for the elevator in the Duke Street garage closest to the Brunswick Hotel to be replaced first. At the Prince Street garage, the bank of elevators closest to Binns Park will be the first to be modernized. Work at the Penn Square Garage will begin in June of 2010. Contractors project that it will take approximately 3.5 months on average to replace each elevator. All eight elevators in the LPA garages will be updated by December 2010. Notices will be posted in each garage well in advance of the start date for construction.
