Fall 2011

Mural In Prince Street Garage

A new addition is located along the Orange Street entrance of the Prince Street Garage. Measuring 153-foot-long, a mural depicting the Lancaster landscape was created and painted by local artist Michelle Shuff.  We have received many kudos that it  brightens up the pedestrian entryway into and out of the garage.

A grant from the “Pennsylvania Council on the Arts” helped fund the mural. Thank you to John Lustig, City Art Manager, and his board for their assistance in bringing the project to fruition.

LPA Staff Updates

Also, Good luck to Mary Dougherty, our Associate Director of Finance and Operations, as she prepares to take the Certified Public Parking Administrator test later this year.

Whats Upcoming this Fall?

New Lighting in the Garages

We are finalizing plans to install over 1,900 new (bright white fluorescent) light fixtures in all of our garages.  These lights will replace the yellow lighting currently in place in most garages.

Concrete Repairs

LPA is also undertaking minor concrete repairs in all the garages this Fall. Be on the lookout for this work as some parking spaces and/or drive lanes may be temporarily blocked.

Also be aware of entrance and exit detours as the final phases of the city “streetscape” plan is being completed.  Sidewalks may be closed to garage traffic diverted to another entrance or exit.
